On Friday, 18th November, we went to National Stock Exchange (NSE) which is situated at Bandra Kurla Complex, MUMBAI, as a part of our industrial visit. In exchange, the presentations were given by the experts on introduction to stock market, derivatives market, currency trading, etc. In these presentations, we were told about the basics of stock market & capital market. Later, we were told about the exchange traded funds (ETF). The presentation also included the details about exchange, its timings and the type of dealings at the exchange.
We were also introduced to the derivative segment of the market, futures contract and options contract, uses of derivatives and leveraged.
Later we all were introduced to the currency exchange segment of the market.
In this presentation we came to know how the currency market works and how trading takes place for the currencies. It also surprised us that the currency market runs 24 hours and the prices for currency changes every minute because when the Indian market closes trading is going on somewhere in the world.
The visit was very much beneficial for all of us and we gained a lot of knowledge about the capital market trading and the factors affecting it.
We all enjoyed a lot there and also look forward for some more visits in future.
