On 10th of this month our students Naveen, Rajshekhar, Ravi, Sanmeet and Shruti had the distinct privilege to visit the Infosys campus. Located in the heart of electronic city, Banglore, the campus boosts of 80 acres and 30,000 employees. It is kaleidoscope of lush green grass, beautiful lakes to the modern and unique architecture designed by the very best.
The event kick started by Senior level Executive Mr Mukundam, who briefed our students about Infosys core business, their marketing strategies, their turnover per year which is roughly $7billion.
Next an IT specialist, Mr Raman Babu emphasized on the level of dedication and the scope of Engineers in the organisation. This is particularly helpful for our students who hail from the Engineering background.
What followed next was a sheer demonstration of the talent that Infy possesses. An H.R. professional, Mr Sudhir Mishra with an industrial experience of 16 . He emphasized on 2 things in life, firstly to keep hitting as in to keep trying in life and never let failures stop you from trying. Secondly to diversify your ideas, go the extra mile, let your imagination run wild.
Our students were so impressed, “It was the best lecture i heard in my life” quotes Ravi. “It finished like bam and I wanted him to continue the entire day” muses Sanmeet.
To harness our communication and interpersonal skills there, was a programme on “Soft skills” and its importance in the corporate world taken by Mr Manoj. Needless to say Mr Manoj blew the class away with his extraordinary oratory skills. He emphasized on 2 facts, Emotional quotient and Intelligence quotient.
Last but not the least, to test the metal of our aspiring managers, a managerial game was hosted by Mr Mukundan. This game basically had all the functions of a real life corporate project. “It sure gave us the real feel of deadlines, using of resources and the pressure of the situations demanded in corporate world” says Naveen. The game went very successful with all of our students completing their tasks efficiently within the time limit. This marked the ending of the event..
The event was very informative and gave our students an insight of what is to follow in the coming years if not months.
