DiSHA – A CSR Initiative of ISME

DiSHA, the most awaited community service initiative of ISME was commenced with the first activity held at the Dharmasagara Education Institution, a private donor-funded Pre-University College in the area of Dommasandra, Bengaluru (around half a mile from ISME Campus) catering primarily to the rural & suburban students. The program was held on the 18th June 2016 (Saturday)
Dr. Satynarayana, Principal of Dharmasagara College welcomed ISME Staff and urged the students to utilise the program to the fullest.
Dr. Swaroop, Principal, ISME set the context of the program and briefed the objectives of ISME taking up such an initiative to counsel the careers and pave the way ahead for the target students. He also introduced the ISME resource persons to the gathering.
Prof. Anju Kumar, Faculty – ISME begun the presentation on “Courses in Vocational Education and Fine Arts”. Considered to be generally overseen, speaker gave a complete picture of who would be more suited for such course, what would be the long-run outcomoes in terms of career formation and the importance such courses are gaining due to the governmental promotions including “Skill India Campaign” and the likes.
Prof. Kiran Kumar K V, Faculty – ISME presented details of “Graduation & Professional Courses in Science,  Computers, Commerce, Law, Management and Arts Streams”. Already familiar courses that they are, speaker focussed on the idea of having passion towards a given stream, rather than market demand. He stressed on the fact that any chosen stream will have a route to success and no course is of higher order nor will be easier than others.
Dr. J K Srivastava, Head – Admissions, ISME presented the “Courses in Diploma and Engineering Streams”.  Commencing with the right entrance test to be taken, speaker discussed the fee structure in both government sponsored and privately run educational institutions, various streams available and the required skill sets if one is to opt for such technical streams.
The program ended with reciprocal thanking by Principals of both institutes and promise to meet again for the 2nd schedule fo presentation after two weeks.
