On 13th September 2012, a summit known as Global Shapers was organized in SAP LABs, Bangalore which was attended by 250 selected students of engineering and management institutes and three students of ISME namely Nivriti Raj , Preeti Sareen and Mansi Parikh was accompanied by Prof. H. S . Mishra to this event.
Global Shapers is a World Economic Forum initiative. They network youth to corporates through intensive career defining opportunities that prepare the youth for big success. For corporates, this creates unique employee engagement programs, while for society good role models.
The summit was marked by the presence of some of the top echelons of the country who have achieved great positions in their life at an early age namely –

Mr V. R Ferose – Managing Director , SAP LABS
Mr Phanindra Sama – Founder and CEO, Redbus.in
Arundhati Gupta – Founder trainee, Mentor Together
These people shared their experience and inspired us with their real life incidents.
The event talked about leadership – transformation from ordinary to extraordinary. It talked about the utmost need and importance of mentoring, coaching and sponsoring in one’s life to guide, mould and nurture the youth and shape their future and also to click a big picture in the mentee’s mind. There was also a panel discussion involving Arundhati Gupta, Phanindra Sama and Dr Monika Ghosh on their real life experiences and the relevance of mentoring in shaping the career of youth.
All the students have been assigned a mentor whereby there will be one to one mentoring interactions between the mentee and the assigned mentor for three months. Global Shapers seeks to provide opportunities like internship, placement and scholarship to some of the selected students whose innovative ideas can bring about good changes and make a difference to this world.
The focus of the event was to encourage youth to take risk in life, to discover their passion and follow it, to innovate, to think out of the box and to bring out the entrepreneurial spirit in them. A lot of emphasis was placed on ‘brand yourself’, ‘sell yourself.

It was a great opportunity to interact with the stalwarts and the best young minds in India.
